Privacy policy

RezUp is a Windows program that enlarges images, with a free demo that runs in your browser. Both run on your own computer: your images are never uploaded to us or anyone else. This page explains the little data we do handle, why, and your rights.
Who we are
RezUp is made by Amstrup Commerce, a sole proprietorship (enkeltmandsvirksomhed), Mågevej 19, 3600 Frederikssund, Denmark, CVR 37813478 (“we”). We are the data controller for the data described here, except where it says Polar is responsible. Contact: hello@getrezup.com.
What we collect and why
- Sign-in. To use the free images in the app or the browser demo beyond the first image, you sign in with an e-mail code or, in the app, with Google. We store your e-mail address and, with Google, your Google account ID. We use them to send your code and to keep your free images on one account. Legal basis: providing the service you asked for (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- Free-image counter. We store how many free images you have used, and when. In the app we also store a code that identifies your computer, so a second account on the same computer doesn’t start over. It is a one-way code made from Windows’ installation ID, not your name or files. Your first demo image is counted only in your own browser. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the free images (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Tips and offers. Only if you tick the box when signing in, we use your e-mail address to send occasional tips and offers, and we store when you agreed. You can withdraw at any time with the link in any of those e-mails, or by writing to us. Legal basis: your consent (art. 6(1)(a)).
- Licence keys. When you activate a licence, the app sends Polar your key, the same computer code, your computer’s name (so you can tell your computers apart) and the app version. About once a week it checks with Polar that the key is still valid. The page you see after buying fetches your key from Polar through our sign-in service, which doesn’t store it. Legal basis: providing the product you bought (art. 6(1)(b)).
- Purchases. Polar Software, Inc. (polar.sh) is the seller and merchant of record. It handles your payment, invoice and VAT, and is responsible for that data under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, e-mail and order details so we can provide the product and support. Legal basis: providing the product (art. 6(1)(b)) and our legal duty to keep accounts (art. 6(1)(c)).
- E-mails to us. If you write to us, we use your address and message to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (art. 6(1)(f)).
- Visiting the website. Like any website, the companies that deliver our pages see your IP address when a page loads. We use no tracking cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers.
We never receive your images, your file names or anything you make with RezUp. You don’t have to give us any of this data to visit the website or try one image in the demo, but we can’t provide sign-in or licences without it.
What is stored in your browser
The website sets no cookies. The browser demo keeps up to two small items in your browser’s storage: a note that your first free image is used and, once you sign in, your sign-in token. They are there to make the demo work, not to track you. Clearing the site’s data in your browser removes them.
Who handles data for us
- Cloudflare: website hosting, the sign-in service and its database, and forwarding e-mail sent to us
- Resend: sending sign-in codes by e-mail, from servers in Ireland
- Google: “Continue with Google” in the app, if you choose it, the website’s fonts, so Google sees your IP address when a page loads, and Gmail, the mailbox that receives e-mail sent to us
- jsDelivr: delivers a component of the browser demo, so it sees your IP address when the demo loads
- Polar: payments and licence keys
Some of these companies are based in the USA, so your data can be handled outside the EU. Cloudflare, Google and Resend are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Polar and jsDelivr describe their own safeguards in their privacy policies. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Your account and free-image counts are deleted automatically 24 months after your last sign-in, or sooner if you ask.
- Sign-in codes stop working after 10 minutes and are deleted within two days.
- Your agreement to tips and offers is kept with your account. If you withdraw, we stop right away.
- Purchase records are kept for 5 years after the end of the financial year, as Danish accounting law requires.
- E-mails to us are deleted when we no longer need them to help you.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent, by e-mailing hello@getrezup.com. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk). We make no automated decisions about you, beyond counting your free images.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects you significantly and we have your e-mail address, we’ll tell you first.
